Glenville, W.Va. – The Glenville State Lady Pioneer volleyball team fell at home on Friday night in three sets (25-13, 25-20, and 25-19) to the Falcons of Notre Dame.

Glenville State (5-11, 1-7) totaled 31 kills on 105 attacks while Notre Dame (9-10, 3-3) had 43 kills on 115 attacks.

The Lady Pioneers started the first set off fast as they raced out to a 6-3 lead. However, the Falcons then outscored GSC 5-1 as they took an 8-7 lead and never looked back. The Lady Pioneers fell in set number one, 25-13.

In the second set, NDC jumped out to a 12-7 lead. GSC made a small run, 6-1, as they tied it up at 13 all. However, the Falcons proved to be too much down the stretch as they defeated the Lady Pioneers, 25-20.

The third set would go back and forth but NDC held a 15-10 lead. GSC tried to mount a comeback but the Lady Pioneers fell, 25-19.

Glenville State committed 24 errors while Notre Dame had 15 in the contest.

Jezaray Clark-Casto led GSC in kills with nine while Skylar Mace finished with eight.

Chase Cooksey had three blocks while Madison Gargus had 29 assists. Ai Miyazaki led the team in digs with 13.

Notre Dame was led by Mary Kate McHugh as she had a game-high 21 kills. Roberta Jokubauskait had seven blocks while Paige Staudacher finished with 37 assists. Amelia Kaeberlein led her team in digs with 11.

Glenville State (5-11, 1-7) will return to action tomorrow morning Saturday, October 13^th when they host the Urbana University Blue Knights at 10 a.m.
