Glenville, W.Va. – The Glenville State Lady Pioneer soccer team fell at home on a cold Thursday evening as they were shutout by the University of Charleston Golden Eagles, 5-0.
Glenville State (0-15, 0-11) recorded eight shots while Charleston (8-6-1, 7-2-1) registered 34 total shots in the contest.
The Lady Pioneers were unable to record a shot in the first half while UC scored three goals from Roberta Pomi, Keira Hill, and Claire Couturier as they held a 3-0 lead at the half.
In the second half, GSC would be in attack mode. All of the Lady Pioneers eight shots came in the period.
Kacey Evans had two great opportunities to score but her kick would sail high and then her second attempt would be saved by UC's Carol Burgess.
The Golden Eagles then added two more goals both from Kiara Skeete as they defeated the Lady Pioneers, 5-0.
Kacey Evans had four total shots for GSC while
Ally Eary,
Brittany Maphis,
Brie Webb, and
Alysia Maguellal all had a shot.
Hannah Beaty had 14 saves for the Lady Pioneers.
Kiara Skeete had seven shots with two goals while Keira Hill had six total shots with a goal for UC.
Carol Burgess had six saves for the Golden Eagles.
Glenville State (0-15, 0-11) will hit the road Sunday, October 21
st when they to Concord University for a 1 p.m. matchup.
