Fairmont, W.Va. – The Glenville State Lady Pioneer volleyball team fell on the road Friday night, 3-1, to the Fighting Falcons of Fairmont State University (25-8, 21-25, 25-15, 25-19).
Glenville State (6-17, 2-13) tallied 35 kills but committed 32 errors while Fairmont State (12-16, 6-9) recorded 57 kills and committed 20 errors.
GSC struggles in the first set as they fell to FSU, 25-8.
In the second set the Lady Pioneers jumped out to a 12-5 lead. FSU then cut GSC's lead to four, 17-13. However the, the Lady Pioneer would get back on track and win the set, 25-21.
In the third set, GSC fell behind early at 6-0 would could not recover as they ended up falling, 25-15.
Glenville State then went toe to toe in the fourth set as they were all knotted up at 12-12. FSC then outscored GSC 13 to 7 as they the Lady Pioneers fell, 25-19.
Glenville State had six team blocks while Fairmont State had 16 blocks as a team.
Jezaray Clark-Casto had 12 kills while
Skylar Mace chipped in with nine on the night.
Madison Gargus led the team in assists with 28 while
Ai Miyazaki had 27 digs in the contest.
Fairmont State was led by Rebecca Feeney as she recorded a game-high 14 kills and three solo blocks.
Glenville State (6-17, 6-9) will travel to Shepherd University this Saturday, November 3
rd for a 1 p.m. matchup with the Rams.
