Volleyball Ends Season with Two Home Victories

Glenville, W.Va. – The Glenville State Lady Pioneer volleyball team hosted a tri-match on Tuesday evening at the Waco Center and picked up two victories as the 2018 season came to an end.

Glenville State (8-18) hosted Kentucky Christian (12-22) in the first match of the night.

The Lady Pioneers would handle Kentucky Christian from the first volley as they took all three sets, 3-0 (25-18, 26-24, and 25-9).

GSC tallied 40 kills while only committing eight errors. KCU had 32 kills but committed 22 errors. Glenville State also had six team blocks while Kentucky Christian had just one.

Freshman Hannah McKown led the Lady Pioneers in kills with 11 on the night while fellow freshman Skylar Mace chipped in with 10 kills.

Madison Gargus had a game-high 32 assists while Ai Miyazaki and Allison Parski each had nine digs apiece.

KCU was led by Kiahna Holmen as she had 20 kills.

In the second match of the night GSC swept Salem University, 3-0 (25-20, 25-23, and 25-22).

Glenville State recorded 45 kills on 125 attacks while Salem (9-31) finished with 29 kills on 106 attacks.

The Lady Pioneers had three team blocks while Salem finished with six total team blocks.

Jezaray Clark-Casto had a game-high 18 kills while Skyler Mace finished with 13 kills.

Madison Gargus finished with a game-high 43 assists while Ai Miyazaki had a team-high 17 digs.

Liane Moser led the Salem University Tigers in kills with 11 while Kathryne Mathis had a game-high 18 digs.
