Glenville, W.Va. – The Glenville State Lady Pioneer Volleyball team begins their 2018 season on the road tonight (Friday, Aug. 8) when they travel to Philippi, West Virginia for a matchup with the Alderson Broaddus Battlers at 7 p.m.

Not only is this the first volleyball match of the year but is also the first official game of the fall season for all GSC sports.

The Lady Pioneers return eight lettermen from last year's team along with three seniors in Madison Gargus, Ai Miyazaki, and Allison Parski. Junior, Bailey Brawner, the team's leader in kills last season with 192 also will look to have a strong 2018 campaign.

Several newcomers will also look to provide an impact this season for GSC. Freshman middle-hitter Skylar Mace has been a bright spot during fall camp while fellow freshman Hannah McKown will also look for playing time.
