Fairmont, W.Va. – The Glenville State Lady Pioneer soccer team fell on the road Wednesday night to the Fighting Falcons of Fairmont State, 10-0.
Glenville State (0-7-0, 0-4-0 MEC) recorded just one shot in the contest while Fairmont State (4-1-1, 2-0-1 MEC) recorded 51 shots and had 32 shots on goal.
Fairmont State scored eight goals in the first half while the Lady Pioneers only shot came in the first as they trailed FSU 8-0 at halftime.
In the second half, GSC only gave up two goals however they ended up falling, 10-0.
The Fighting Falcons had 10 corner kicks in the contest while the Lady Pioneers had none. GSC also faced 32 shots and had 20 saves on the night.
Brie Webb had the only shot for GSC while goalie
Hannah Beaty had 20 saves and gave up 10 goals. The Lady Pioneers other goal keeper
Alyssa Banks faced two shots and had two saves.
FSU's Louise Welch had two goals and three assists while
Abigail Johnson had two goals and two assists. Kaite Doyle also had two goals for the Fighting Falcons.
Glenville State (0-7-0, 0-4-0) will return home this Sunday, September 23
rd when they host the Concord University Mountain Lions. Game time is set for 2 p.m.
