Lady Pioneers Drop Home Soccer Match to Concord

Glenville, W.Va. – Glenville State goalie Hannah Beaty had a season and career high 30 saves on Sunday however it wasn't enough as the Lady Pioneers fell at home to the Mountain Lions of Concord University, 12-0.

Glenville State (0-8-0, 0-5-0) recorded just three shots on the day while Concord (4-2-1, 2-1-0) registered a total of 63 shots.

In the first half, Concord took 33 shots with nine corner kicks as they scored seven goals as they went into halftime leading GSC, 7-0.

GSC had two of their three shots come in the first half of action.

The Mountain Lions then tallied 30 shots and four corner kicks as they added five more goals in the second half to defeat Glenville State, 12-0.

GSC had just two corner kicks on the afternoon while CU had a total of 13.

Kacey Evans, Julia Lesko, and Brittany Maphis all had a shot in the contest for the Lady Pioneers.

Goalie Hannah Beaty had 30 saves on the day before leaving the game with an injury.

Concord had nine different players score a goal in the game while Mira Kontio, Courtney Wallace, and Delaney Crumblish each had two goals in the game.

Glenville State (0-8-0, 0-5-0) will return to action this Wednesday, September 26th when they travel to Washington Adventist for a 4 p.m. matchup.
