Glenville, W.Va. – The Glenville State Lady Pioneers raced out to a 10 point halftime lead over the Fighting Falcons of Fairmont State University and never looked back as they went on to earn a 30 point victory, 99-69.
Glenville State (15-2, 10-1) had five players score in double figures as they earned their 31
st straight win at home. Fairmont State (7-10, 4-7) had three players post double figures.
The Lady Pioneers biggest lead of the contest came in the fourth quarter as they led by 32 points while FSU's largest lead of the game was by five. Glenville State's defense forced the Fighting Falcons into 29 turnovers and converted them into 26 points.
GSC had 15 second chance points while FSU had just four. The Lady Pioneers also outscored the Fighting Falcons in the paint, 51-40.
Glenville State shot 40 percent from the floor and went 10-for-27 from three for 37 percent. Fairmont State shot 45 percent from the field but went just 3-of-18 from deep for 16 percent.
Emily Stoller had a game-high 21 points while Re'Shawna Stone,
Donasja Scott, and
Zakiyah Winfield all had 16 points apiece. Scott also grabbed 14 rebounds as she posted her second career double-double.
Courtney Davis finished with 11 points but also scored her 1,000
th career point as a Lady Pioneer.
Rachel Laskody scored 21 points to lead the Fighting Falcons while Brooke Kurucz chipped in with 15 points.
Glenville State (15-2, 10-1) will hit the road this Saturday, January 26
th as they travel to West Virginia Wesleyan for a 2 p.m. matchup with Bobcats. Â
