Glenville, W.Va. – The GSC women's soccer team faced off against the Fighting Falcons of Fairmont State University. The match would end in a 1-0 loss pushing them to 2-9 on the year.
 
The match would begin in a battle of defense maintaining a nil, nil score. GSC would gain two yellow cards while being outshot seven to one, as Carley Midkiff would have the only shot on goal for the Lady Pioneers. In the last minute mark of the first half the Fighting Falcons would find a way into the Glenville State net to take the lead 1-0.
 
In the second half, Midkiff would attempt to tie the match but missed high. GSC would continue to gain another yellow card while maintain strong defense throughout the match. Julia Lesko, Leighana Weaver, and Miki Abe would attempt to score adding a shot each
 
The Lady Pioneers would be out shot 12 to 5 as Morgan Smailes would have five saves within the game.
 
The Lady Pioneers will be back in action as they travel to Elkins, W.Va. to face off against Davis & Elkins Sunday October 20^th at 1:00pm. In their last meeting, the Lady Pioneers forced the match into overtime before falling 1-0.
