Glenville, W.Va – GSC Women's Soccer fell on the road against the Hilltoppers of West Liberty University 1-0. The Lady Pioneers are set back to 3-12 while West Liberty moves forward to 3-8-4 on the year.
The Hilltoppers would outshoot the Lady Pioneers 13-1 in the first half where
Morgan Smailes would have eight saves. At the 13-minute mark,
Miki Abe would attempt the only shot in the half, on target but saved by the WLU goal keeper Olivia Montgomery.
In the second half, the Hilltoppers would come out aggressive scoring the first goal of the match at the 54'. Lady Pioneers would regain momentum adding an addition four shots by
Leighana Weaver and Abe. Weaver would have two shots both saved by WLU's Montgomery and one shot blocked. Abe would also add the last shot of the half but also blocked.
Smailes would have a total of 11 saves on the day.
The Blue and White return to Morris Stadium to square off against Notre Dame, Sunday November 3
rd at 2pm. In the 2018 match up, the Lady Pioneers fell to the Falcons 9-0.
