Glenville, W.Va. – GSC would fall 2-1 in a double overtime match against the Falcons of Notre Dame College. The Blue and White continue to add to their historic season as
Chelsey Midkiff would score the second conference goal of the season while entering into their first double overtime.
In the first half,
Chelsey Midkiff would attempt the first Blue and White shot after being fouled by Falcon, April Gaukin at the 33' but saved by the goal keeper.
Leighana Weaver would attempt another shot but missed wide left at the 11' with
Jordan Cole following behind but saved by goal keeper at the 10'. The Lady Pioneers would be outshot seven to four but with 10 seconds left in the half, Midkiff would notch a corner kick to score the first goal of the match.
In the second, Falcon's Ellie Gess would begin by earning a penalty kick but saved by GSC's very own
Morgan Smailes. The play would become rough earning the Falcon's their first yellow card. Notre Damn would retaliate to tie the match one all with 12 minutes remaining in the match.
Miki Abe would try to take the lead at the buzzer but saved by the Falcon's goal keeper.
The match would head into over time tied at one all leaving the ten minutes scoreless.
The Blue and White would add to their historic season going into double overtime.
Carley Midkiff would find her self in a free kick at the 5' but missed high, the falcons would answer back with another free kick to end the match with a Pioneer 2-1 loss.
Smailes would add another 18 saves in the match as the Lady Pioneers would be outshot 32-6.
The Blue and White will travel to Urbana University to take on the Blue Knights Wednesday November 6
th at 4pm.
