Columbus, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican University Panthers hit a baseline jumper with one second remaining as the Glenville State Women's Basketball team came up short in a non-conference contest on the road, falling 81-80 and 2-2 on the year.

Glenville State (2-2) had one last chance as they heaved a shot from half court but it wouldn't fall for the Lady Pioneers.

Ty Armstrong led the Blue and white with 21 total points going 6-for-18 from the floor with two assists and three rebounds.

In the first quarter, the Lady Pioneers raced to an early 12-9 lead as
Ty Armstrong scored eight quick points with a three-point jump shot and layup. The Panthers would answer back taking a 13-12 lead with 4:05 left in the first.

A quick 8-0 run gave the Panthers a 19-14 advantage, but a layup by
Zakiyah Winfield and free-throws by
Taychaun Hubbard would cut the deficit 21-18.

Armstrong and
Emily Stoller added to the scoring to close out the first, as GSC trailed 25-23.

Both ODU and GSC would trade baskets back and forth as Re'Shawna Stone and Armstrong began the second quarter with layups, following a three-pointer by
Emily Stoller but ODU still led 34-30.

Abby Stoller connected with Armstrong followed by a shot from behind the arc by Stone to cut the lead to one, at 36-35 with 4:55 left in the half. Back-to-back three-pointers by
Emily Stoller and Armstrong would put the Lady Pioneers in the lead at 46-41. The half would end as the GSC held a 50-46 advantage.

The Lady Pioneers shot 19-of-42 going 4-for-4 from the free-throw line with 15 total points by Armstrong and 12 from
Emily Stoller in the first half.

Stone dished out three assists in the first half, while Winfield had three rebounds.

Ohio Dominican was forced in 17 turnovers and shot 20-for-37 in the first.

Three's from
Lucille Westfall and Armstrong would start the third quarter with a short 6-0 run to gain the first ten-point lead of the game at 56-46.

The Panthers answered back by scoring ten points to cut the ten-point lead to just three at 60-57 with 3:47 left in the third.

Panther's Hannah Clark tied the game at 61 all with a lay-up before Armstrong would be fouled to add a pair from the stripe. Winfield would add to score to end the third 65-62.

ODU started the fourth quarter with a three pointer and lay-up as
Emily Stoller would respond back with the same to maintain a 70-67 lead. The Panthers and the Lady Pioneers traded baskets back and forth as
Victoria Brown's layup and Stone's three would put GSC up by three 75-72 with 6:12 left in the game

Hubbard, Stone and Stoller would score to lead by one, ODU's Brittleigh Macaulay made jumper with just one second left would put the Panther's on top 81-80 for good. That buzzer beater would lift ODU past GSC.

The Blue and White shot just 38 percent going 29-for-76 while shooting just 30 percent from behind the arc, whereas ODU shot 50 percent from the field. The Lady Pioneers forced the Panthers into 29 turnovers and converted them into 33 points.

Glenville State had 23 fast break points, 34 points in the paint and 13 second chance points. Panthers had just four fast break points with 42 points in the paint and had 18 second chance points.

Emily Stoller scored 20 points going 5-for-14 from behind the arc with three rebounds. She also scored her 1,000 career-point as a Lady Pioneer.Â

Stone lead the Lady Pioneers with six assists on the night as Winfield lead with six rebounds totaling 12 and nine points, respectively.

ODU was led by Angela Troyer who shot 23 points going 10-for-18 from the field with five rebounds and three assists. Brittleigh Macaulay followed behind with 13 points and nine rebounds.

The Lady Pioneers (2-2) will be back in action to begin conference play this Saturday, November 23
rd at the Waco Center as they host West Virginia State University at 2pm.Â
