Glenville, W.Va. – Glenville State become victorious over the Blue Knights of Urbana University (5-4, 2-2 MEC) 105-81 in a conference match up. The Blue and White improve to 5-3 on the year and 3-1 in conference.
 
Re'Shawna Stone would have a great showing hitting a team high 21 total points with seven rebounds and three steals.
 
How it Happened
 
First Quarter:
 
Both teams would open the contest knotted at 12 all with layups by Ty Armstrong and Zakiyah Winfield added with a bucket from behind the arc by Emily Stoller.
 
The Blue Knights and the Lady Pioneers would continue to trade baskets back and forth the tie the match at 20 all with under two minutes in the quarter.
 
Re'Shawna Stone would hit a three pointer along with a layup and bucket at the stripe to put the Lady Pioneer ahead at 28-25.
 
Second Quarter:
 
Winfield would start the quarter by going 2-for-2 at the strip to push their advantage to by five. Urbana would respond with a three and layup to tie the match again at 30 all.
 
The Blue and White would go on a short 5-0 run with buckets by Kaneshia Afi and Taychaun Hubbard with under six minuets remaining in the half.
 
The Lady Pioneers went on a 17-11 run to push their advantage to double digits with under a minute remaining as Mashayla Cecil, Stone, Armstrong and Hubbard would all have four buckets a piece.
 
Glenville State sent Urbana to the locker room leading 54-44.
 
GSC shot 22-for-54 from the field while with just 2-for-14 from behind the arc where as UU shot 48% from the floor with 50% form deep.
 
Third Quarter:
 
Kaylee Pierce and Emily Stoller would hit three back to back buckets form behind the arc to make separation at 63-44 early in the third.
 
The Blue and White maintained an 18-point lead throughout the quarter as Stone and Hubbard contributed six and four points, respectively.
 
To end the quarter, GSC leads 80-62.
 
Fourth Quarter:
 
Hubbard and Armstrong would start the quarter with back to back threes and Afi added an, and one to push the Lady Pioneer advantage to 21 at 93-72.
 
Emily Stoller would hit the century mark with a bucket from deep to put the Lady Pioneers 102-79.
 
The Lady Pioneers would win the contest 105-81.

The Blue and White shot 41-106 with just 10-46 form behind the arc. Glenville State took down 60 rebounds and 19 steals.
 
Taychaun Hubbard shot 7-for-14 gaining 17 total points with one block and three steals.
