Glenville, W.Va. – The GSC Lady Pioneer softball squad dropped a doubleheader on Sunday to the Rams of Shepherd University.
The Rams racked up 10 hits while the Lady Pioneers finished with just three hits as GSC dropped the first game of the afternoon, 7-1.
The game was much closer than the score indicated as the Rams held just a 1-0 lead up until the sixth inning. That is where Shepherd spilt the game wide open as they scored five runs on three hits as they led the Lady Pioneers 6-0.

Jeri Potter on a sacrifice bunt however GSC still trailed by five, 6-1. Shepherd added one more run in the seventh as they took game one, 7-1.
Kassidy Heavner had the lone RBI for the Lady Pioneers while
Paranda Uber finished the contest 2-for-3.
Tori Ward pitched 5.1 innings allowing four runs on seven hits while striking out two batters.
Ashley Fridley pitched 1.2 innings allowing three runs on three hits and had a strike out.
Shepherd's Lori Sturgill picked up the win on the mound for the Rams as she went the entire game allowing one run on three hits while striking out nine Pioneers.
Game two was all Shepherd as they blanked the Lady Pioneers, 11-0. The Rams racked up 16 hits while GSC went hitless in the contest and committed two errors.
Taylor Stocks went the entire game for the Rams as she threw a no hitter to go with 11 strike outs.
Celina Maberto pitched 3.1 innings giving up five runs on 10 hits while striking out two batters.
Glenville State (5-11, 1-3) will return to action on Wednesday, March 20
th when they travel to take on West Virginia Tech in a doubleheader. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
