Glenville, W.Va. – The Glenville State Lady Pioneer basketball team finished out the regular season with a win over the Bobcats of West Virginia Wesleyan, 107-85, in route to their 38th straight win at home.
Glenville State (26-2, 21-1) jumped out to a 15-3 lead halfway through the first quarter and would lead by double digits for the rest of the contest.
Glenville State finished the contest shooting 44 percent from the floor and 30 percent from deep hitting 12-of-40 three's. West Virginia Wesleyan (6-19, 6-16) finished the game shooting 46 percent from the field and 50 percent from deep netting 6-of-12 three-pointers.
The Lady Pioneers forced 35 turnovers and converted them into 47 points. GSC also outscored the Bobcats in the paint 52-44.
Glenville State held a 25 point lead at the break, 60-35.
Re'Shawna Stone paced GSC with a game-high 20 points and three assists. Zakiyah Winfield chipped in with 17 points while Courtney Davis scored 16 points and grabbed six rebounds.
Emily Stoller poured in 16 points in the victory while Abby Stoller and Donasja Scott each chipped in with 11 points apiece.
Malaika Kimmons led WVWC with 13 points and five boards while Nicole Gilyard chipped in with 11 points.
Glenville State (26-2, 21-1) who is the No. 1 seed in next week's MEC Tournament will play on Thursday, March 7th against the winner of the No. 8 Shepherd/No. 9 West Virginia State game in Wheeling at the WesBanco Arena at 6 p.m.
