Glenville, W.Va. - The GSC Lady Pioneer Acrobatics & Tumbling team scored their highest total of the season on Wednesday night however it wasn't enough as they fell to the Fighting Falcons of Fairmont State University on the road, 273.370-261.730.
It was the first loss of the season for the Lady Pioneers.
FSU held a small lead after the compulsory event at 38.30 to 34.70. The Fighting Falcons took all four heats and the big difference in event was in the tumbling heat as FSU took it 8.80 to 6.95.
Fairmont State then took the acro event 29.30 to 28.05. GSC would tie FSU in heat two (6 element) at 9.70 but the Fighting Falcons made their separation in heat one taking it 9.85 to the Lady Pioneers 9.85.
Right before halftime GSC would tie FSU in the pyramid event at 29.55. Fairmont State took heat one (inversion) 10.00 to 9.80 but the Lady Pioneers took heat two (synchronized) 9.85 to FSU's 9.60. And in the heat three (open) FSU would take it by five points, 9.95 to 9.90.
Glenville State trailed Fairmont State at halftime 92.30 to 97.15.
Fairmont State then took the toss event 27.90 to 26.20. GSC's high score came in heat three (open) scoring a 9.10 while FSU's high score also came in the heat three as they scored a 9.50.
Glenville State took the duo pass in the tumbling event 9.1000 to FSU's 8.850. Then in the trio pass GSC also took it scoring 8.150 while the Fighting Falcons scored a 8.100. However, Fairmont State then went on and took the rest of the heats in the tumbling event as they took the event, 54.500 to 51.350 as we headed into the team event.
Fairmont State just nudge Glenville State in the team event as they took it 93.82 to 91.88 as they defeated the Lady Pioneers 273.37- to 261.730.
Glenville State (3-1) will host Adrian College this Sunday, March 24th at 2 p.m. from the Waco Center.
