Lady Pioneers Drop Doubleheader at West Virginia Wesleyan

Buckhannon, W.Va. – On Wednesday evening the GSC Lady Pioneer softball team dropped a doubleheader to the Bobcats of West Virginia Wesleyan College.

Game one, GSC tallied eight hits while allowing 12 as they fell to the Bobcats 8-0 in five innings.

WVWC did most of the damage in the third inning. After they held a 1-0 lead the Bobcats drove in five run in the third and never looked back as they took the first game, 8-0.

Eight different players for GSC had a hit with Paranda Uber going 1-for-3 and Landri Mays went 1-for-2.

Celina Maberto pitched 2.0 innings as she fell to 3-11 on the mound. She gave up four runs on five hits while walking two batters.

Game two again saw the Bobcats blank the Lady Pioneers 3-0. Glenville State finished with four hits and an error while West Virginia Wesleyan tallied five hits.

The Bobcats took a 1-0 lead after the first inning. WVWC then added a run in the third inning and a run in the sixth inning as they defeated GSC, 3-0.

Paranda Uber went 3-for-3 while Kelsey Naylor went 1-for-2.

Ally Brown fell to 4-5 on the mound as she pitched 6.0 innings allowing three runs on five hits while striking out one batter.

Glenville State (9-21, 2-10) will return to action this Saturday, April 6th at 1 p.m. when they host the Yellow Jackets of West Virginia State.
