Glenville, W.Va. – On Saturday the GSC Lady Pioneer softball team dropped a doubleheader to the West Virginia State University Yellow Jackets.
Glenville State tallied five hits in game one while WVSU recorded 10 hits. Despite the five hits the Lady Pioneers were blanked in game one falling 9-0 in six innings.
The Yellow Jackets took an early 3-0 lead heading into the fourth inning. WVSU then went on to score three runs in both the fifth and sixth as they went on to claim a 9-0 win.
Paranda Uber went 3-for-3 while
Landri Mays and Jerri Potter each recoded a hit.
Tori Ward pitched 4.0 innings allowing six runs on seven hits as she fell to 2-4 on the mound.
Game two also belonged to the Yellow Jackets as they defeated GSC 6-2.
West Virginia State had big first inning as they scored three runs on three hits to take a 3-0 lead. They then added a run in the second and a run in the third as they built a 5-0 lead.
The Lady Pioneers got on the scoreboard in the fourth when
Paranda Uber smacked her second home run of the season making it 5-1.
West Virginia State then added another run in the fifth off of two hits as they now led 6-1.
Glenville State's final score came in the seventh as
Kelsey Naylor hit her seventh home run of the year however the Lady Pioneers ended up falling 6-2.
The Yellow Jackets finished with 11 hits while the Lady Pioneers recorded four hits.
Paranda Uber went 2-for-3 with a solo homer while
Kelsey Naylor went 1-for-2 with a solo home run.
Ally Brown pitched the entire game allowing six runs on 11 hits with one strike out.
Glenville State (9-23, 2-12) will return to action tomorrow Sunday, April 7
th as they host the University of Charleston at 1 p.m. Â
