Glenville, W.Va. – An early goal lifted Glenville States Women's Soccer team past Alderson Broaddus (2-1) in a non-conference match up Sunday evening. The final score was GSC 1-0 improving the season record 2-3.
At the end of the first half, the Lady Pioneers had a 1-0 lead against the Battlers.
Leighana Weaver scored from a corner kick by
Julia Lesko. GSC had seven total shots in the half, with four on target, where as Alderson Broaddus had three shots all on goal.
Gazing to advance the lead in the second half, the Lady Pioneers added three more shots, two on target but ineffective. Lesko had four shots with two on goal, Weaver added another two shots with two being on frame.

Carley Midkiff,
Miki Abe and
Abigail Dye all tallied one shot each.
Morgan Smailes added four saves on the day.
The Lady Pioneers will be back in action on home turf to face off against University of Charleston (3-3). Kick off in the conference match up is 7pm at Morris Stadium.
