Glenville, W.Va. – GSC Women's Soccer program (2-4) faced off against the University of Charleston who is 4-3 on the season. The Golden Eagles are currently ranked third in the Southern Division of the MEC playing a rough match against the Lady Pioneers.
In the first half, the Lady Pioneers led with strong defense to maintain the zero all score. The Golden Eagles of University of Charleston had eight shots, with four on goal,
Morgan Smailes saving all. This is the first season of the program where the Lady Pioneers have not given up a goal in the first half.
In the second half, Aysha Hill had the Lady Pioneers first shot on goal 33' before UC took the lead scoring the first goal at the 30-minute mark, then extending their lead in the 17' 2-0. Looking to make a come back,
Julia Lesko made the second shot with nine minuets left in the game missing high off target. At six minutes, the Golden Eagles stretched their lead one more time to take the match, 3-0.
