Buckhannon, W.Va. – Re'Shawna Stone's 1000th career point lifts GSC past the Bobcats in a season sweep 108-74.
Stone netted 26 points on the night shooting 11-for-17 from the floor and 5-for-5 from deep.
How It Happened
First Quarter:
Taychaun Hubbard opened the first quarter for the Lady Pioneers with a layup that created early momentum for GSC. The Blue and White jumped to an early 11-2 advantage with a three ball from Re'Shawna Stone and
Ty Armstrong connecting with
Abby Stoller and
Zakiyah Winfield.
Stone would tally her 1000 career point with a three ball to push Glenville State's advantage to double digits at 14-4.
The Bobcats answered back on a short 6-0 run to pull back within four, as both teams would trade baskets at eight a piece. In the final minute
Emily Stoller would find
Kaneshia Afi on the floor for another three ball leading 30-20.
Second Quarter:
Stone would sink a three ball to start the second quarter as Hubbard added a layup. Though both teams remained scoreless over two and a half minutes.
Stone broke the hold with a three-point conversion with a jumper and freebie while Winfield hit a jumper to push the GSC lead by 20 at 42-22.
Down the stretch, the Blue and White went on a 10-4 run as
Abby Stoller would sink a three ball from Armstrong to end the half leading 53-31.
At the half, the Blue and White shot 48% from the floor and 6-for-16 from behind the arc as the Bobcats shot 15-for-39 in the field and 1-for-4 from deep.
Third Quarter:
Glenville State advanced their lead to 35 with buckets by Armstrong, Winfield and
Victoria Brown.
From there, the Lady Pioneers would go on a 15-5 run as Stone added two jump shots and layup from
Emily Stoller.
With one-minute remaining, Hubbard connected with Stone from the field sinking a layup to lead 81-46.
Fourth Quarter:
Weslyan came out in the fourth scoring the first bucket but responded back with a jumper by Winfield and Stone.
Kaylee Pierce rallied a three point shot from Winfield as
Emily Stoller continued by sinking another triple hitting the century mark at 101-67.
Lucille Westfall entered a shot 5-2 run herself sinking a jumper and three ball to take the contest 108-74.

The Blue and White shot 48% from the floor and 10-for-32 from behind the arc while scoring 30 fastbreak points and 31 points off turnovers.
Zakiyah Winfield net 18 points shooting 67% from the floor, while
Emily Stoller tallied behind with 17 points and seven rebounds.
Lucielle Westfall knotted nine rebounds in the contest scoring five points.
The Bobcats was lead by Cierra Tolbert who tallied 28 points.
