Glenville, W.Va. – The Lady Pioneers continue a three game win streak after defeating Mansfield and Mercyhurst University ending GSC's Round Robin Tournament 1.

Inside The Box Score
On the offensive attack
Jeri Potter, Kara Smith and
Catherine Pelfrey all tallied five hits in the series as Potter lead the Lady Pioneers with three RBI's and Smith following behind with two on the night.
Celina Maberto picked up the win in the circle for the Blue and White in game one pitching seven inning, allowing just six hits, three runs and two strike outs. In game two,
Tori Ward collected the win on the mound also pitching seven innings with seven hits, one run and three strikeouts.
How It Happened
Game One – (10-3)
Glenville State struck first in the first inning when
Karra Smith doubled to right field helping
Peyton Werntz and
Catherine Pelfrey cross the plate as the Lady Pioneers held a 2-0 lead over Mansfield.
Then in the top of the third GSC added to their lead as
Jeri Potter smacked a triple to right field scoring
Paranda Uber and
Kierson Tavares and then later Potter would cross the plate on wild pitch as they took a 5-0 lead.
Mansfield got on the board in the third scoring one run off of two hits as they trailed GSC, 5-1.
The Lady Pioneers added another run in the fifth as
Peyton Werntz hit a sacrifice fly to left field scoring
Catherine Pelfrey as GSC went up 6-1.
GSC would go on to add four more runs on the board as they defeated Mansfield 10-3 earning their second win of the 2020 season.
Game Two – (4-1)
The Lady Pioneers gained an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first as
Peyton Werntz doubled to left as
Paranda Uber followed behind also singling to left.
Jeri Potter would come to the plate scoring both runners from second and third but thrown out at second. The Lakers came back scoring one run off four hits in the bottom half.
Catherine Pelfrey started the inning with a base hit between short and left and moved to third on a Mercyhurst error on Werntz hit to third. Werntz then drew herself in a rundown in between first and second to score Pelfrey to lead 3-1.
In the top of the sixth,
Kayla Letart came into to pinch hit and singled to short to begin the inning. Pelfrey then doubled to left scoring Letart from first to stretch GSC's stretch to 4-1.
In the seventh, Uber singled to third and then pushed to second on Potter's shot to right. From there, Kara Smith singled to left to load the bases with none off the board. However, the Lady Pioneers would leave two stranded on base, maintaining a 4-1 lead going into the bottom of the half.
The half ended on 1, 2, 3 inning to defeat Mercyhurst 4-1.
