Glenville, W.Va. – The Lady Pioneers split the day with a win against Alderson Broaddus and loss under Shippensburg University.
Mackenzie Martinelli tallied her first season homerun as
Tori Ward picked up the win on the mound.

Inside The Box Score
Kara Smith was 2-for-3 on the day with an RBI as Mackenzie hit 4-for-7 on the offensive attack totaling three RBIs.
Peyton Wernts tallied team high four RBIs.
Celina Maberto pitched three innings giving up five hits and three runs in game one where
Tori Ward allowed just three hits in game two over AB.
How It Happened
Game One – 10-2
In the second inning, the Lady Pioneers loaded the bases against Shippensburg as
Mackenzie Martinelli rallied the first hit with a line drive to centerfield. From there both
Kelsey Naylor and Kerison Tavares walked, however all three runners would be left on base.
In the bottom half of the inning,
Celina Maberto found herself in a small third and second base jam but a fly ball to Naylor would get the Lady Pioneers out of the inning, still scoreless from both sides.
In the top of the third,
Jeri Potter walked to start the inning. Kara Smith then stepped up to the plate hitting a double past the right fielder to score Potter from first. GSC would then take their first lead at 1-0.
SU in the third loaded the bases scoring two runs to get ahead of the Lady Pioneers 2-1
Naylor opened the fourth with a single to center as
Paranda Uber followed behind with a walk. However, both would be left stranded in the field heading into the bottom half.
Ashley Fridley came into the bottom half of the fourth trailing 3-1. The Lady Pioneers would answer as Kara Smith opened the fifth with a single past the second basement. Martinelli then scored Smith from first on a triple past the right fielder to pull back within one.
Shippensburg would not go away as in the fifth; a two homeruns and multiple hits would get away from the Lady Pioneers trailing 8-2.
GSC would end up falling in the sixth inning as Shippensburg added two more runs, 10-2.
Game Two –
Kelsey Naylor and
Tori Ward both lead off the inning with back to back walks but left stranded in the second maintaining a 0-0 score going into the bottom half.
The Lady Pioneers would get on the board first as a
Jeri Potter got to first on a fielder's choice and advancing to third on
Peyton Werntz's double to center.
Mackenzie Martinelli then came in and hit her first homerun of the season.
From there,
Kelsey Naylor,
Tori Ward and
Haylee Stevens would load the bases as
Paranda Uber would walk, scoring Naylor from third.
Jeri Potter would then single to center to score Ward.
Peyton Werntz then scored all three runners on an error caused by the Battler's right fielder.
Jessica Williams in the fourth then doubled past the Battler's center fielder then advancing to third on a passed ball. GSC continued to get passed AB's defense as
Tori Ward scored pinch runner,
Haley Smith from third.
GSC would go into the bottom half leading 10-0 until AB knocked a two run homerun to cut their deficit 10-2.
Kendall Bowen and
Shadee Hawkins opened the fifth drawing two walks, Bowen then advanced to third on a fielder's choice from blooper by Smith. Bowen then scored on a passed ball to lead 11-2.

The Lady Pioneers will face off against West Chester University and IUP tomorrow at 1&3pm at the Sue Morris Complex.
