Winter Haven, FL – Lady Pioneers split in day two of the Florida Spring Games;
Game One | Glenville 1, Sciences 6
Game Two | Glenville 7, Holy Family 3
Inside The Box Score
Paranda Uber lead the offensive attack for the Lady Pioneers hitting 4-for-6 on the day with oen RBI and one walk.
Mackenzie Martinellie followed hitting 4-for-7 scoring three RBIs including a homerun in game two.
Tori Ward earned the win on the mound against Holy Family while also hitting 3-for-5 in the double header.
Celina Maberto gained the loss against the Sciences giving up just four hits.
How It Happened
Game One: Glenville 1, Sciences 6
Paranda Uber opened up the first inning with a walk and stole second. With two outs,
Mackenzie Martinelli would then step up to the plate and hit a double to left center scoring Uber from second gaining an early 1-0 lead over the Devils.
Jessica Williams continued in the second drawing another walk, however Williams would be left stranded at first. In the third
Karra Smith gained a walk in a ten pitch at bat, but also left at first maintaining their 1-0 lead off just one hit.
The Science would light a fire as they caught up and tied the game one one all. In attempt to score their second run, Uber would toss out the Devil's runner at home. However, on a hit to center they would lead 2-1 as Ashely Fridley would come into relief. The Sciences then extend their lead to 5-1 going into the bottom of the fifth.
Fridley in the bottom half started with a single to center gaining the second Lady Pioneer hit of the ball game.
In the top of the sixth,
Peyton Werntz came into relief as the half ended with another run for the Sciences to lead 6-1.
Katelyn Richardson came into pinch hit and drew a walk to start the bottom of the sixth,
Karra Smith then advanced
Jeri Potter replacing Richardson at first to second.
Mackenzie Martinelli then pushed Potter with a fly ball to the center field wall but left stranded at third.
Game Two: Glenville 7, Holy Family 3
The Lady Pioneers bounced back quick as Uber drew a walk and advanced to second on Katelyn Pelfrey's single to center. Martinelli would then step up to the late with a no doubter over the left center wall gaining an early 3-0 lead over Holy Family.
In the bottom half of the inning, the Tigers responded quick with one run that eventually loaded the bases, trailing 3-1.
In the second, Richardson started with a double to right as
Tori Ward then scored her from second to extend their lead 4-1.
Martinelli in the third hit a single up the middle and then stole second on the next pitch. Peyton then hit a double with a shot down the third base line to score Martenelli. Richardson continued with a walk.
Ward followed with a single scoring Werntz as Potter walked to load the bases. Uber next singled to third in attempt to tag Ward out but missed the tag scoring Richardson. GSC would end the inning extending their lead 7-1.
In the fourth, Martinelli would continue with a base hit and mimic the third stealing second on the first pitch. Werntz followed with another walk however Marinelli would then be caught stealing third.
Kelsey Naylor then walked and advanced Werntz to second however, both runners would be left stranded as GSC maintains their 7-1 lead.
Holy Family added two runs to the board as the Tiger's Elaina Hansen hit a two run shot over center field to cut their deficit 7-3.
Looking to advance their lead,
Karra Smith drew a walk to start the sixth, but found her self out at second on Haley Steven's fielder's choice. Naylor then drew a walk, advancing Stevens to second but the Blue and White would not be able to produce.
In the seventh, Ward doubled down the left field line as Uber then singled to third beating out the throw but left stranded taking the contest 7-3.

The Lady Pioneers will continue to play at the Winter Haven Spring Games and face off against Rockhurts and University of Finley tomorrow at 12:30 and 2:45pm.
