Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women’s Soccer Falls to Falcons

Fairmont, W.Va. - Glenville State Women's Soccer continued conference play on Wednesday night with their first matchup of the year with Fairmont State.

Fairmont provided pressure early registering nine shots to Glenville's one in the first half of play. Fairmont got on the board first with a goal in the 9th minute by Kiera Kuzinski high right to give the Falcons the early lead. Kuzinski would be back in the action towards the end of the first half assisting Riley Miara to push the Falcons lead 2-0.

Fairmont would carry that lead into the second half. Glenville would tighten up the defense in the second half, and would only allow one shot in the first twenty five minutes of the second half. In the 72nd minute, Fairmont would break through again to extend the lead 3-0.

Glenville would save six of the Falcons nine shots on goal.

JR Dodson's Pioneers could not get any momentum going late in the match, and the Falcons would hold on for the 3-0 win. The hard working Pioneers have held strong through a rough stretch of matches, and look to find some conference confidence when they host Davis & Elkins on Sunday.
