Bobcats Top Pioneers in Midweek Matchup

Glenville, W.Va. - Glenville State Women's Soccer hosted West Virginia Wesleyan on Wednesday evening in their second matchup of the season. Glenville was looking to even up the season series against the Bobcats who tied #15 Concord on Sunday evening.

Six fouls were called in the early stages of the match, with only one opportunity coming for the Bobcats in the 9th minute but was cleaned up by the Glenville goalie Jasmine Runk.

After a back and forth first half, Wesleyan would get on the board first when the MEC Player of the Week, MaKatlyn Tucker fired a shot low right to put the Bobcats up 1-0. Wesleyan would take that lead into the half.

Ashlyn Ray would extend the Bobcat lead in the 57th minute with a shot put low left. As the game developed in the second half, the aggressive play would continue on both sides. Wesleyan would hold a slight edge in fouls 17-11, and three yellow cards would be issued in the match.

Wesleyan would go on to win 2-0. Glenville would register seven shots on the night, with two of them being on goal. Miki Abe would lead the Pioneers in shots with 3. Jasmine Runk would have six saves in goal for Glenville.
