Kim Stephens and her national powerhouse Lady Pioneer squad opens their 2022 season this weekend, traveling to the West Chester Tournament in West Chester, Pennsylvania. Possessing a roster with several veteran leaders, GSC enters the season ranked 14
th in Division II in the Preseason Coaches' Poll.

In last year's abbreviated COVID-19 season, Glenville ended the season with a 12-4 mark, advancing to the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament for a fourth consecutive season. It was the program's fifth consecutive NCAA appearance; all five years of the Coach Stephens tenure.

Of the seventeen players that appeared in a game last year, 15 are back. This includes the team's top six scorers;
Zakiyah Winfield (20.6),
Re'Shawna Stone (16.8),
Taychaun Hubbard (12.0),
Abby Stoller (7.9),
Dazha Congleton (7.6), and
Mashayla Cecil (7.3).
Kaylee Pierce (6.3), and Vendela Daniellsson (5.1) also appeared in all 16 games for Stephens. Winfield and Stoller led the team in rebounds, averaging 7.8 and 7.4 boards per game. Stone recorded a team-high 53 assists, and Cecil a team-high 29 three-pointers.

Glenville opens up play Saturday afternoon, facing Bloomsburg at 4:30. They close play on Sunday, facing the host West Chester squad at noon.Â
