INSTITUTE – Glenville battled the strong West Virginia State squad strong on Tuesday night, but could not overcome the regional powerhouse Yellow Jackets, falling in straight sets; 25-14, 25-14, 25-11. Glenville's strongest push came in the second set, where they had the deficit at 15-10 well into the frame.

Keven John's Lady Pioneers was led in kills by
Skylar Mace with nine,
Sydney Goodrich seven, and
Lily Emerson four. Goodrich and
Karlei Shaver each recorded a pair of service aces, while Mace and
Julia King each posted a pair of blocks. Setters
Julia King and
Jenna Cogar registered 12 and nine assists respectively. Goodrich tallied a team-high 14 digs, followed by
Lindsay Winkler with nine and
Hannah McKown seven.
State added to their division lead, improving to 24-3 overall, and 12-1 in the Mountain East Conference. Glenville falls to 2-17 overall, and 0-13 in the MEC.
GSC returns to action Friday night, hosting the University of Charleston. First serve is set for 7:00 in the Waco Center.
