GLENVILLE – The University of Charleston produced a strong second half Tuesday afternoon, defeating the home-standing Glenville State College Pioneers 81-62 in Mountain East Conference Men's Basketball action. They opened the second half with an 18-8 run to gain separation.
Glenville kept the game close early. While the Eagles through most of the early going, the contest was still tight at 32-30. Charleston gained the momentum at this point, closing the half on a 9-3 run to gain a 41-33 lead at the half. They were able to carry this energy into the aforementioned beginning of the second half.
Nick Edwards led the GSC effort team highs of 15 points and five assists. John Williams added eight points, and
Seth Fallon a team-high two steals.
Charleston's Shunta Wilson led all scorers with 20 points, and was complemented Lamont McManus and Eddie Colbert with 11 points each.
Charleston improves to 4-1 on the season, and 2-0 in the Mountain East Conference. Glenville falls to 1-2 overall, and 0-1 in the MEC.

Justin Caldwell's Glenville State squad is back in action on Friday, hosting St. Augustine University this Friday night at the Waco Center.
