Justin Caldwell's Glenville State Pioneers utilized a hot-shooting second half, producing a come from behind 96-76 victory over the visiting Villa Maria Vikings. GSC connected on a sterling 22 three-pointers for the game, hitting on 46.8% (22-of-47).
Point guard
Nick Edwards delivered a spectacular line on the day, posting an impressive triple-double. He recorded a line of 19 points, 16 assists, and 10 rebounds. He also registered a team-high four steals.
Villa Maria came out strong, grabbing an early 11-4 lead, and leading most of the first half. Glenville hit two three-pointers in the final minute of the half, cutting the Viking margin to 44-41 at the break.
Glenville scored the first seven points of the second half, gaining a lead that they would not relinquish. The Pioneers would hit 12 of the team's 22 three's in the second half.
Edwards was complemented in scoring by Nick DeSouza's team high 20, 18 from John Williams Jr. and 15 from
Tommy Williams.
Villa Maria was led by Jaiden Green with 16 points, and Jeriah Williams with 14.
Glenville improves to 5-4 with the win, while Villa Maria falls to 7-6. The Pioneers return to action after the break, hosting a strong Washington Adventist squad on January 2
