Ranked Lady Pioneers Throttle Bobcats

Frostburg, MD – The Lady Pioneers soared passed Frostburg State's defense as they earned a 57-point victory, 112-5 over the Bobcats inching closer to the MEC Southern Division Tittle.
 
Dazha Congleton earned her first double-double as a Lady Pioneers while surpassing her GSC career points with 15 on the night and ten rebounds.
 
How It Happened
 
First Quarter:
 
The Lady Pioneers struck a 12-0 run to open the contest against the Bobcats as FSU was scoreless in the first two minutes and 45 seconds.
 
Quickly accumulating to their score, Mashayla Cecil sunk a three with a pair of layups and shots from the stripe by Abby Stoller holding a 22-5 advantage.
 
Continuing their role, Taylor Smith and Vendela Danielsson then found Re'Shawna Stone and Cecil behind the arc to tally another two, three pointers as they would end the first holding a 33-16 score over the Bobcats.
 
Second Quarter:
 
Jada Mitchell and Deja Atkinson opened the second with duplicate pairs of freebies as Dazha Congleton scored a teardrop to sit 39-16.
 
A jumper from Kaylee Pierce and two layups by Zakiyah Winfield and Re'Shawna Stone then ended the half sending the Bobcats to the locker room 60-24.
 
Shooting 58% from the floor and 5-for-11 from deep, the Lady Pioneers forced the Bobcats 17 turnovers and converting 23 into points at the break. FSU on the other hand shot just 9-for-38 from the floor and 0-for2 from behind the arc.
 
Third Quarter:
 
Then in the third and all the way from across Europe, Danielsson added a five-point conversion to kick off a 13-6 run that would put the Blue and White ahead 78-36.
 
From there, Congleton added another GSC three ball with layups following from K. Pierce and Stone. Congleton then ended the third with a layup from Danielsson to push the Blue and White's advantage by 50 points at 88-38.
 
Fourth Quarter:
 
Winfield adding four points to start the fourth, as Congleton sunk a three from Stoller.
Continuing their three ball hot streak was Julia Harrington from Congleton that would set up K. Pierce as she sunk the century mark basket.
 
Makyala Pierce then added two shots from the line as she and Zephaniah Gray both connected with Taychaun Hubbard for deep buckets ending the contest 122-55.
 
Inside the Box Score
 
Glenville State at the end of the contest tallied 14 triples while shooting 50% from the field and wracking up 63 rebounds on the night. The Lady Pioneers totaled 18 steals, 48 points in the paint and 35 points off turnovers on the night.
 
Kaylee Pierce tied GSC game high with 15 points shooting 3-for-4 from behind the arc with Re'Shawna Stone following behind with 14 in the contest.
 
Both Stone and Jada Mitchell totaled four steals as Mitchel chipped in with eight rebounds and nine points.
 
Frostburg State in the other lane shot just 25% from the field and 11% from deep scoring 27 on court points and knotting 15 steals. Ciara Thomas lead the Bobcats with 18 points, four steals and four rebounds.
 
Coming Up
 
Continuing their away stretch the Blue and White will travel to Athens, West Virginia to face off against Concord University Friday Afternoon. Tip off is slated for 2:00pm.
