Glenville, W.Va. – After 360-plus days the GSC Lady Pioneer Acrobatics & Tumbling team took the mat on Friday evening and walked away with a big victory over the Senators of Davis & Elkins, 252.600 to 235.030.
How It Happened
Glenville State started the year off great as they took three-of-the-four compulsory events, winning the acro, pyramid, and tumbling as they held a 36.150-31.900 lead.
Another good showing for the Lady Pioneers in the acro event as they take two-of-the-three heats. GSC won heat one, 8.700 to 8.500, and then heat three, 9.500 to 7.600, as they took the event 25.800 to 24.500. The running total after two events, GSC led D&E, 61.950 to 56.400.
Right before halftime, the Lady Pioneers took the pyramid event, 27.550 to the Senators 26.350. GSC went into the break leading Davis & Elkins 89.500 to 82.750.
Coming out of the break, the Senators would take the toss event from the Lady Pioneers 26.160 to 25.850 winning the 450 salto toss and the open toss. However, GSC still held the total lead at 115.350 to 108.900.
The Senators then came out and took four-of-the-six heats in the tumbling event as they won the event 49.950 to 48.600. Nonetheless the Lady Pioneers still held the lead with a total running score of 163.950 to 158.850 heading into the final event, the team event.
Glenville State also took the team event from Davis & Elkins, 88.650 to 76.180. The Lady Pioneers won the meet as they improved to 1-0 as they downed the Senators, 252.600 to 235.030.

Glenville State will travel to Fairmont State University on Sunday, March 7 as they take on the Fighting Falcons at 2pm.
