Charleston, W.Va. – The Glenville State Lady Pioneer (0-1) women's soccer team fell to the University of Charleston Golden Eagles (1-0) on Friday evening, 4-0.

How It Happened

First Half

The Golden Eagles struck first at the 35:57-minute mark when Kassandra Demps scored on an assist by Shannon Henson as they led 1-0.

GSC then had a shot attempt from Shyanne Martin at the 40:04 mark but it came up short and UC would capitalize at the 41:02-minute mark when Rachel Osborne scored on an assist from Katy O'Reilly as they took a 2-0 lead into the half.

Second Half  

UC added another goal, this one at the 66:51-minute mark, as Kate Eddy scored on an assist from Shannon Henson as they held a 3-0 lead.

The final goal of the contest came from the Golden Eagles at the 78:48 as Alex Speight scored as GSC fell 4-0.

Inside the Box Score

Glenville State had just one shot in the contest while UC tallied 17 shots.

The Golden Eagles tallied 10 corner kicks while the Lady Pioneers had two.

Shyanne Martin had the lone shot for GSC. Goalkeeper Jasmine Runk had five saves on the night.
