Glenville, W.Va. – Glenville State Women's Soccer (0-2) dropped their home opening debut against first time West Virginia State (1-1), 5-1.

Mackenzie Hendricks scored GSC's first goal of the 2021 season while also netting her first collegiate goal.

How It Happened

Period One:

West Virginia State tallied four quick shots on GSC's defensive before Mackenzie Hendricks attempted to pick a shot on the Yellow Jackets, her shot would be out left.

The Yellow Jackets netted their first goal of the contest at the 16:36 marker before adding three more goals to their score holding a 4-0 lead over the Blue and White.
Mackenzie Hendricks picked up the first shot on goal for the Pioneers in the bottom right corner but WVSU's defense would hold GSC scoreless going into the half.

Period Two:

Then in the second at the 57:20 mark, Hendricks would score the first goal of the season for Glenville State cutting their deficit 4-1.

Down the stretch, WVSU would tally one more goal before ending the match 5-1.
