Glenville, W.Va. – Trio of Pioneers score in double-figures to lift No. 11/24 Glenville State (6-1) past Notre Dame College (2-5) 91-80.
Hegel Augustin and
Nick Edwards each posted double-doubles on the evening with Augustin scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds and Edwards knotting 15 points and 13 assists.
John Williams scored a game high 28 points and just shy of a double-double with nine rebounds.
How It Happened
First Quarter:
John Williams put GSC Hoops on the board first then continued with a three ball with
Tommy Williams following behind with another leading 16-7.
The Falcons then gained their first lead of the contest at 19-17 before J. Williams connected with
Nick Edwards to tie the match at 19 a piece.
Trading leads back and forth, the Falcons then gained a ten-point lead at 35-25 before going on a 17-5 run.
Luke LeRose then sunk a bucket from deep to slow the Falcon's momentum with layups from J. Williams and
Hegel Augustin.
Augustin then connected with Edwards behind the arc to end the half trailing 43-40. The Pioneers at the break shot 40.5% from the floor and 5-for-25 from deep as the Falcons shot 55%.
Second Quarter:
Out of the break,
Hegel Augustin helped put the Pioneers on top closing the gap to lead 50-48.
In the half, the lead continued to trade hands until the Pioneers separated from the herd. It began with three triples from John and
Tommy Williams and a pair from the stripe from
Seth Fallon. At the 5:09 mark, the Pioneers lead 75-69
Four freebies would then put the Pioneers up by double-digits at 85-74. The contest would end after Augustin sunk a three ball with a pair at the stripe from Edwards to defeat the Falcons 91-80.

Glenville State shot 43% from the field while sinking 12 buckets from deep forcing 15 Notre Dame turnovers and converting 25 into points.
Tommy Williams tallied eight points off the bench with four rebounds and a steal.
John Williams also totaled three blocks.
Notre Dame shot 50% from the floor and 33% from three as tallied five blocks and eight steals. The Falcons was led by Michael Sampson with 15 points and 14 rebounds.
