Philippi, W.Va. – The hot shooting of Alderson Broaddus (5-5) in the first half allowed the Battlers to hand GSC Hoops (6-2) their second loss, 102-94, in Mountain East Conference action on Saturday afternoon.

Hegel Augustin as they each tallied double figures at 29 points, 27 points and 22 points, respectively.
How It Happened
First Half:
Alderson Bruaddus gained a quick 10-4 advantage over Glenville State before
Luke LeRose would tally 2-for-3 at the stripe and two layups from
Gus Eddy and
Nick Edwards.
The Battlers held their lead over the Pioneers as both
Tommy Williams and
John Williams looked to cut their deficit with two three balls to trail just 29-26.
ABU gained a ten-point lead over GSC with five minutes remaining in the half, Eddy sunk a short floater to hold their momentum, however the Battlers would separate from the pack to lead 54-33.
T. Williams added a three ball as Edwards shot 1-for-2 at the line to end the half trailing 58-40.
Shooting just 45.7% from the feld the Pioneers hold an 18-point deficit as they tally just four second chance points and 22 points in the paint.
The Battlers efficiently shot 64.7% from the floor and shot 9-for-16 behind the arc while also tallying 14 assists.
Second Half:
Out of the break, the Pioneers would slowly begin to outscore the Battlers as both John William's and
Hegel Augustin's sunk two three ball where the Blue and White went on a 19-8 run.
Reducing their deficit to singles at 74-67, Edwards continued with another three-point conversion with Augustin's shot from deep.
Down the stretch, both teams would trade baskets equally at six a piece until the Battlers regained their ten-point lead and maintaining the difference over a three-minute stretch.
Hegel Augustin then added a triple to pull back within seven then shot 2-for-3 at the stripe to trail 94-88 with 1:56 on the clock.
John Williams and
Gus Eddy then added layups each as Battlers continued to add to their score. From there the Pioneers could not find the end of the net as they fell 102-94.
Inside The Box Score
Shooting similar numbers at the half, the Pioneers shot 47.3% at the end of the contest from the field while improving to 6-for-17 from deep in the second. The Blue and White forced 14 turnovers while converting 16 points off turnovers.
Hegel Augustin tallied another double-double this season with 22 points and ten rebounds.
Gus Eddy chipped in with eight points as
Tommy Williams followed behind with six points and seven rebounds.
Alderson Broaddus shot 60% from the floor to end the contest while tallying 13-for-19 from behind the arc as they were lead by David Shriver with 25 points and four rebounds and Christian Miller-car with 16 points and 3 rebounds and two assists.
