Frostburg, MD – Raining threes from the Pioneer Offense showcase their
why factor behind their No. 11 & 24 National Rankings. GSC Hoops (7-2) defeated Frostburg State (3-6) 131-104 while tying a GSC record.
John Williams totaled an outstanding 52 points on the night, most in NCAA Division I, II & III (men's or women's) so far this season and second-most in MEC history.
How It Happened
First Half:
Gus Eddy led the Pioneers to their first bucket of the contest bringing down the first rebound then connecting with
John Williams for a three ball that led to a quick 8-0 run.
Playing a fast paced game GSC led 29-17 before the Bobcats caught up trailing just four 29-25 early in the first.
Nick Edwards then sunk a tear drop that followed by
Hegel Augustin's short floater that forced the Pioneers momentum to lead by ten 39-29.
The Bobcats then answered back with an 11-5 run before Eddy found Edwards for a jumper that kicked off a set of triples from J. Williams.
Augustin and J. Williams ended the half with a pair of threes, nearly buzzer beater to send the Bobcats to their locker room trailing 60-48.
At half, the Pioneers shot an impressive 57 % from the floor and 10-for-24 from deep while pulling down 22 rebounds. Frostburg tallied 17-for-31 from the field while also shooting 50% from deep totaling 14 fast break points.
Second Half:
Opening the half on an 11-4 run for the Pioneers,
Tommy Williams sunk back to back threes that would kick off
John Williams offensive drive ballooning the Pioneers lead 82-62.
Continuing their offensive showcase,
Luke LeRose added a wide open layup that then triggered
Hegel Augustin's triple attack. From there
Adrian Scarborough sunk a monstrous dunk that would mark the century basket to lead 100-79.
T. Williams converted a pair from the stripe that followed several buckets from Edwards, Scarborough, J. Williams and Augustin.
Down the stretch, with a minute and forty to play,
John Williams then hit a three ball to rack up 52 points on the night.
Ending the contest,
Ethan Clay added a freebie from the stripe then connect with Dawson Lilly to sink another Pioneer triple. The Blue and White would come out on top 131-104 against Frostburg State University to improve to 7-2 on the season.

Efficiently displaying the Pioneer's offense, GSC Hoops shot 57% from the floor, and shot 18-for-45 from behind the arc while counting 11 steals, and 26 points off turnovers.
Adrian Scarborough knotted his first double-double this season as a Pioneer with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Scoring his second double-double this season and adding to the Pioneer offense was
Nick Edwards with 17 points and 13 assists.
Tommy Williams set a new career high with 16 points shooting 3-for-8 from deep while adding two assists a block and a steal.
Hegel Augustin contributed with 17 points on the night and pulling down nine rebounds.
Frostburg also effectively shot well throughout the contest, 55.7 % from the floor, 42% from deep and 21 points off turnovers, yet not enough against GSC Hoops. The Bobcats were led by Agyei Edwards and Canaan Bartley with 23 and 22 points.
