Philippi, W.Va. – No. 11/20 Lady Pioneers (7-1) forced the Alderson Broaddus Battlers (4-5) into 37 turnovers as they ran away with an 88-60 victory on the road, Saturday afternoon.
Taychaun Hubbard lead the Lady Pioneers with 15 points and seven rebounds while also tallying three assists and steals in the contest.
How It Happened
First Quarter:
Zakiyah Winfield and
Mashayla Cecil put the Lady Pioneers on the board first with back to back triples before gaining a quick 17-5 advantage.
The Battlers then went on a short offensive stall with a 9-5 run as
Kaylee Pierce then shot 1-for-2 at the stripe and Winfield tallied the final bucket of the first to hold a 23-12 lead.
Second Quarter:
Vandela Danielsson and Re'Shawna Stone continued to add to the Lady Pioneer offense with
Abby Stoller behind tipping in a basket to hold a 7-2 run within the second quarter (30-16).
Taychaun Hubbard then sunk a three ball to extend GSC's run, 10-4 as Stoller then added a pair from the free ball stripe to hold 35-18 over ABU.
Stone added a pair from the line to end the half 42-22 in favor of Glenville. At the half, the Lady Pioneers shot 15-for-43 from the field and tallied 14 steals while also forcing 21 turnovers. For the Battlers, at the half they shot 9-for-23 from the field and 2-for-9 behind the arc.
Third Quarter:
Jada Mitchell sunk a short floater with Stone right behind with a tear drop as both teams traded baskets equally throughout the third.
Hubbard connected with Stone and Winfield connected with Stoller both for layups to end the quarter 58-31.
After a low scoring third quarter, the Lady Pioneers outscored the Battlers just 16-12 as the Blue and White also forced more Battler turnovers than rebounds this deep into the contest.
Fourth Quarter:
Kaylee Pierce hit a three ball then each
Dazha Congleton,
Abby Stoller,
Zakiyah Winfield and
Tyesha Taylor all sunk layups.
Pierce, Hubbard and Taylor then all hit three ball shots to end the contest 88-60 scoring 30 points in the quarter.

Glenville State picked up their seventh victory this season shooting 39% from the floor efficiently shooting 59.1% in the fourth quarter. In the 27 turnovers forced, the Lady Pioneers converted 30 into points while also gaining 21 steals and 45 rebounds.
Abby Stoller tallied 14 points in the contest while bringing down five rebounds with Re'Shawna Stone chipping in 14 points also with five rebounds.
Dezha Congleton tallied five rebounds with
Zakiyah Winfield as they both had four steals afternoon.
Alderson Broaddus shot 50% in the contest from the field and just 33.3% from deep tallying 36 rebounds. The Battlers were led by Madeline Moyer and Hannah Henderson with 15 and 10 points with five and three rebounds, respectively.
