Through the set, both teams, battled a hard fight, but the Mountain Lions would pull away from the Pioneers in a few runs, taking set one, (25-16).

The Pioneers would come into the next set of the evening strong, with a kill by Karlei Shaver, followed by a kill from Sarah Mazzaferro, and then by Jyra Clark-Casto. Then Concord would answer back, with a kill by Imani Rodgers. However, this did not put a stop to the Pioneers push to win set two. Kills through the set by Taylor Goett, and Skylar Mace too, would contribute to the Pioneer victory in the second set of the first game, (25-20).

Set Three:

In set three, the Pioneers would struggle through the set. After an early 6-0 run from the Mountain Lions would show they were coming back strong. The Blue and White would try to battle Concord but was not enough to pull away from the Mountain Lions, as they fell (25-19) in the third set.

Set Four:

Coming into set four, the Pioneers would score first with a kill by Karlei Shaver. Then, Concord would answer back off an error by the Blue and White, and a kill from the Mountain Lions' Sheridan Herron.  Then a kill from Sarah Mazzaferro, would be the answer back from the Pioneers in the beginning of the set.  Both teams would fight to keep the lead through the set, and the Pioneers would be strong, and pull out with a victory of set four, (25-22).

Set Five:
In the final set of the first game, both teams played strong, knowing that the title of the evening's first game was on the line. Excellent performances of both sides made the final set of the game very heated, with multiple ties through the set. Unfortunately, the Pioneers were unable to take set five, falling to the Mountain Lions by two, (15-13).
