Fairmont, W.Va. – The Glenville State Lady Pioneer Acrobatics & Tumbling team suffered their first loss of the 2021 season on the road falling to the Fighting Falcons of Fairmont State University, 257.430 to 236.610.
How It Happened
Fairmont State (2-0) started off great as they took all four heats in the compulsory event as they held the early lead over GSC (1-1), 36.0 to 36.2.
Then in the acro event, the Lady Pioneers would 1-of-the-three heats, winning the 7 element 9.45 to 7.7 but FSU took the event 26.0 to 25.4. Running total of the meet after two events; FSU 62.0 – GSC 58.0.
In the pyramid event, the Fighting Falcons again took all three heats from the Lady Pioneers winning it 29.2 to 23.1 with FSU lead overall, 91.2 to 81.1 as we headed to halftime.
Fairmont State took all three heats in the toss event 26.7 to 25.05 as they led the entire meet, 117.9 to 106.15.
Glenville State took the 6 element in the tumbling event by a score of 8.6 to 8.125. However, FSU would take the tumbling event 49.7 to 47.4 with the running total in favor of the Fighting Falcons 167.6 to 153.55 as we headed into the final event, the team routine.
It would be close but Fairmont State won the team event 89.83 to 83.06 as they went on and claimed the victory handing GSC its first loss, 257.430 to 236.610.
