Glenville, W.Va. – While rallying 14 hits on the day, the Pioneers also left 14 Pioneers on base dropping both contests to West Liberty University.

How It Happened
Game One:
West Liberty quickly held a 2-0 lead over Glenville State holding the Pioneers to a no hitter until the fourth.
Ashton Palmer broke the no hitter with a single to center but would be held at first. WLU then added three runs in the top of the fifth extending their lead 5-0.
Then in the bottom of the inning, Kaelynn Stenger singled to center as
Katelyn Richardson followed as she was hit by pitch.
Haylee Stevens would advance Stenger to third on a fielder's choice but all would be halted ending the inning with two left on base.
In the sixth, the Pioneers would score their first run as Palmer beat the throw from short and scoring off
Catherine Pelfrey's RBI single to reduce their deficit 5-1.
Cutting a close edge in the Pioneer's final crack at the bat, Stevens singled as
Ashley Fridley followed behind forcing a WLU error. Contagious errors would then allow Stevens to score as
Mackenzie Martinelli then singled to right scoring Fridley but ending the contest with a 5-3 loss.
Peyton Wrentz on the mound pitched a full 7.0 innings striking out out four Hilltoppers and allowing just five hits although, Wrentz would gain the loss.
Game Two:
Ashley Fridley picked up the first hit of the contest before WLU scored their first run in the second.
The Hilltoppers would swipe another run in the fourth as Peyton Wrentz drew a walk.
Catherine Pelfrey would replace Wrentz at first and stealing second but held in scoring position.
The fifth inning resulted in scoring plays for both WLU and GSC as the Hilltoppers added three in the top of the inning and GSC swiped one.
Jessica Williams hit a bombshell shot, her second in two series, to pull the Pioneers 5-1.
The Hilltoppers responded by scoring two in the sixth with Martinelli singling in the bottom half and held at third as the Pioneers would go off to drop game two 7-1.
Celina Maberto took the loss on the mound in her five innings pitched giving up 10 hits as
Kaylee Drake pitched two allowing two runs.

Glenville State totaled 14 hits on the day with seven and seven in both games where as West Liberty tallied 18.
Mackenzie Martinelli and
Ashley Fridley both had three hits scored a run and with two hits,
Haylee Stevens and
Ashton Palmer each scored a run.
Katelyn Richardson picked up a double with
Jessica Williams hitting her second homerun this season.
