Pioneers Caged by Mountain Lions

Athens, W.Va. – The Pioneers suffered a significant 9-0 loss this evening against Concord University dropping to 1-5 on the season.
 
How It Happened
 
Shyanne Martin recorded the first shot of the match between the Mountain Lions and Pioneers 23 seconds into the contest. CU held their defense strong throughout the pitch allowing GSC's second and third recorded shots from Miki Abe and Summer McShane-Cale 25 minutes in following CU's first goal.
 
CU added two more goals as the Pioneers would attempt to respond with two shots from Heidi Hunter and again by McShane prior to the end of the first half.
 
Then trailing 3-0, Abe would try to record a goal for GSC 47 minutes in, but the Mountain Lions continued to prevail rallying six goals extending their lead 9-0.
 
Lyric Allen recorded the last shot for GSC 85 minutes in but the Pioneers would fall 9-0.

Glenville State recorded 17 saves in the matchup with 16 from Morgan Smailes where as Concord recorded just two.
 
However, the Pioneers would go on to face 43 shots as 26 of the Mountain Lion's shots were on goal.
 
The Pioneers tallied seven shots in the contest with two being on goal from Miki Abe and Heidi Hunter.
 
Summer McShane-Cale totaled two shots with Lyric Allen adding one.
