Conference play opens this week in Mountain East Conference Volleyball. For Coach Keven John and his Glenville State College squad, the home opener on Tuesday night will be against a familiar foe.
 
Each program has a first-year head coach; John for the Pioneers, and Coach Jordan Willis for the Senators. The two coaches have coached against each other before…in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. This was when John was coaching at Western State of Colorado and Willis was at UC-Peublo.
 
Sydney Goodrich and Skylar Mace lead the Pioneers in kills with 50 and 42 respectively. Sarah Grainger has been the top setter with 87 assists followed by Julia King with 53. Goodrich also has a delivered a team-high 12 service aces. At the net, Mace has recorded a team-high seven blocks. Libero Madison Shepherd has accumulated 43 digs, and Goodrich 36.
 
Glenville enters the contest 1-4 overall in non-conference play, while D&E enters at 2-7. The match starts at 7:00 in the Waco Center.
