rd, Glenville State's Lady Pioneers look to continue their strong season on Wednesday night, hosting Davis & Elkins in the Waco Center. Coach
Kim Stephens' squad is now 12-0 overall, and 7-0 in the Mountain East Conference. They are ranked first in the Atlantic Region.
Glenville is coming off an 84-63 victory over a strong West Liberty squad on Saturday. Lady Pioneer
Zakiyah Winfield was named GSC Athlete of the Week, and scored 29 points in the victory over the Hilltoppers. Teammate
Re'Shawna Stone currently leads the MEC scoring, burning the nets a 19.1 points per game clip.
GSC continues to lead the nation in scoring, averaging 100.8 points per game.
Davis & Elkins enters with an overall record of 3-8, and 0-4 in the MEC. They are led by Dream Cherry, who is fourth in the league in scoring (16.7 ppg), and Marissa Berlin who is fourth in rebounding (10.2 rpg). The Senators have not played since their 61-58 win over Fayetteville State on New Year's Day.
Tip-off is set for 5:30 on the Waco Center's McPherson Court.
