GLENVILLE – In their first road trip as the nation's #1 team, Glenville's Lady Pioneers embark on their longest excursion of their conference schedule this weekend. Coach Kim Stephens' squad travels to Notre Dame for a Saturday matchup in South Euclid, Ohio.
Coming off Wednesday night's 91-55 victory over Alderson-Broaddus in the Waco Center, GSC now sports a 17-0 overall record, and a 12-0 mark in the Mountain East Conference. They continue to lead the nation in scoring with a 100.4 per game average.
There are four Lady Pioneers averaging in double-figures; Re'Shawna Stone (18.3), Zakiyah Winfield (17.9), Dazha Congleton (11.0), and Taychaun Hubbard (10.6). The team's deep and talented rotation also includes several other scorers getting quality minutes in the balanced attack; Mashayla Cecil (9.6), Vendela Danielsson (8.1), Abby Stoller (7.6), Kaylee Pierce (5.5), Tyeshia Taylor (4.7), Deja Atkinson (3.2), Aline Fevrier (2.6), Skylar Davidson (2.5), and Zephaniah Gray (2.5).
Team wise, GSC is averaging 18.5 assists per game, and 16.0 steals. They are almost plus-10 in team rebounding average, pulling down 45.6 boards per contest, while their opponents are averaging 36.1.
Jennifer Oduhu has been the Falcons' leading scorer on the season, averaging 13.7.
Notre Dame enters the contest 7-10 overall and 6-6 in the MEC.
