#5 Lady Pioneers Travel North to Face Wheeling

GLENVILLE – One day after moving up to 5th in the nation in the latest Division-II Coaches' Poll, Coach Kim Stephens' Glenville State College Lady Pioneers are swinging back into action, traveling to Wheeling University on Wednesday. This marks GSC's first game since an 87-54 victory over Wilberforce back on December 17.

Currently sitting at 10-0, and 5-0 in the Mountain East Conference, the Lady Pioneers are once again leading the nation in scoring offense, burning the nets at a 98.5 points per game clip. They are also third in the MEC on the defensive end, giving up only 66.9 ppg. 

Re'Shawna Stone has led the GSC attack, leading the league in scoring at 18.2 points per game. She has been complemented by teammates Zakiyah Winfield at 14.0 ppg, and Dazha Congleton at 12.9. Winfield and Stone are both ranked in the top of the MEC in assists at 3.5 and 3.3 averages respectively, while Winfield and Congleton are also among league leaders in steals at 2.1 per game each.

Wheeling enters Wednesday's contest with an overall mark of 2-8, and a 2-4 ledger in the MEC. The Cardinals are led by Lauren Calhoun, who has posted a host of double-double's this season. She is currently third in the MEC in scoring at 17.2, and fifth in rebounding at 9.7

Tip-off is set for 5:30 in Wheeling's McDonough Center.
