Lady Pioneers Drop MEC Contest to West Virginia Wesleyan 2-0

Glenville, W.Va. - Glenville State's Women's Soccer team fell to the Bobcats of West Virginia Wesleyan 2-0. The Pioneers' record falls to (0-13) overall and (0-11) in the Mountain East Conference. Glenville would be outshot in tonight's match 13-4.

West Virginia Wesleyan opened the first half of play with a goal in the third minute of the match. Before the Lady Pioneers created a shot the Bobcats scored again. Wesleyan's Beth Burchett scored the goal in the 29th minute stretching the lead to 2-0. Mackenzie Hendricks produced the first shot for the Lady Pioneers. In the 35th minute of the match, Alyssa West created another chance for the Pioneers. Her shot would be on target, but the Wesleyan goalkeeper made a great save.

After allowing two goals in the first half, Glenville's defense stood strong in the second half. The Pioneers would face a total of six shots in the second half. In the 54th minute of the match, the Lady Pioneers broke away from the Bobcats' defense. However, Glenville was offside ending the Pioneer's attack. The last half of the match proved to be physical with a total of 15 fouls called. Mackenzie Hendricks would produce another shot in the 90th  minute, but the Bobcats would make the save. 

Seven Lady Pioneers played the entire match for Glenville. Goalkeeper Leah Williams finished the match with six saves. Mackenzie Hendricks led the team in shots with three and two shots on goal.
