Dane Lynch Jr. Earns MEC Defensive Player of the Week

Bridgeport, W.Va. – Glenville State's Dane Lynch Jr. has been named the Mountain East Conference Defensive Player of the Week, presented by The Health Plan. Notre Dame College's Teddy Tiokeng has also been named the MEC Defensive Player of the Week sharing the honors with Lynch Jr. The Falcons Idris Lawrence has earned the MEC Offensive Player of the Week.

Dane Lynch Jr. led the Pioneers in breaking the MEC and GSU record for the most interceptions in a game. Lynch Jr. produced two interceptions and four tackles in Glenville's win over the West Liberty Hilltoppers. His first interception came on West Liberty's first offensive possession of the game. Lynch Jr.'s second interception would come in the opening drive of the fourth quarter.

Idris Lawrence, a sophomore, rushed for a career-high 173 yards in a win over the University of Charleston. Lawerence also tied a career mark by producing two touchdowns. In the first quarter, a 53-yard run would set up his own two-yard touchdown run to give NDC a 14-3 lead. In the second quarter, he broke through for a career-long 60-yard run, getting the Falcons to Charleston's 15-yard line. NDC would score another touchdown on that drive.

Teddy Tiokeng led the Falcons of Notre Dame College in total tackles with 11, tackles for loss with three, and two sacks. After Notre Dame turned the ball over, Tiokeng would sack the quarterback and force the fumble. The Falcons recovered and scored on the next drive.
