GLENVILLE – Glenville's Acrobatics & Tumbling team competed in their second meet of the year on Sunday, hosting West Virginia Wesleyan at the Waco Center. The Bobcats prevailed 244.714-210.990.
Competing for the first time as Glenville State University, the Pioneers captured the Pyramid event, but the Bobcats came out on top in the other five. The GSU score of 210 was a jump from their 164 performance at D&E last week, but was not enough to overtake WVWC on this day.
Glenville came out on top in three individual areas of the scoresheet; Compulsory Tumbling, Open Pyramid, and the Tumbling Aerial Pass which was performed by freshman Megan Bankes. The Compulsory Tumbling unit consisted of Abigail Swinderman, Madisyn Hahn, Sadie Eddins, Mackenzie Bathe, Bankes, Erin Finney, Gillian Cooper, and Hanna Hanulik. The Open Pyramid unit was Hannah Cunningham, Abigail McDermott, Cooper, Swinderman, Caitlyn Looney, Finney, Bathe, Ashton Lowe, Payten Semenske, Madelyn Countryman, and Madelyn Toy.
GSU is back in action on Tuesday, traveling to West Liberty. The Hilltoppers were the preseason favorite to win the MEC.
Events start at 4:00 on the West Liberty campus.
