GLENVILLE – Coach Kim Stephens and her #1 ranked Lady Pioneers return home on Saturday, putting their undefeated mark on the line against Frostburg State.
Glenville is coming off a hard-fought 79-74 win at Fairmont on Wednesday. They continue to lead the nation in scoring at 98.7 points per game. GSC is also leading the nation in steals at 15.7 per game, a stat that has given the Lady Pioneers a boon with 36.6 points per game off turnovers.
GSC has three scorers among the league leaders; Re'Shawna Stone at 18.3 (2nd), Zakiyah Winfield at 17.9 (3rd), and Taychaun Hubbard 11.3 (25th). Winfield leads the team in rebounding at 6.4 rpg, followed by Hubbard and Abby Stoller at 6.2 each. Stone is the team leader in both steals and assists.
Frostburg is riding a two-game winning streak, posting impressive wins over Wheeling and Concord in the least week. They are led in scoring by Maggie Sharp, who is averaging 11.4.
Glenville enters the contest 19-0 overall, and 14-0 in the MEC. Frostburg is 5-15, and 4-11 in the league.
Tip-off is set for 2:00 on the Waco Center's McPherson Court.
